The Passions

“THE PASSIONS”  are considered one of the top vocal groups to come out of Brooklyn in the late 50’s and early 60’s

In the early days the group was known as “The Sinceres”. They were given a demo “Just To Be With You”, written by Marv Kalfin  and recorded by Paul Simon and Carol King who had a group known as “Cousins”.

“The Sinceres”  went on to record “Just To Be With You” under their new name “The Passions” and in October of 1959, Just To Be With You climbed to #69 on the Billboard charts but climbed to the top 20 on the east coast of the USA.

The Passions went on to record such hits as “ I Only Want You” and “This Is My Love”, a song that is often called “Sweeter Than” from it’s opening line.

Over the years the group has made appearances on  Alan Freed’s First Brooklyn Fox concert and his first TV show Big Beat. Dick Clarks “American Bandstand” as well as “The Clay Cole Show” join their list of TV appearances.

Along with Albee Galinoe, the originator of the group and Louis Rotondo, one the finest lead singers on the circuit today. Together with bassist/lead vocalist LennyTrerotola and lead vocalist Wayne Smith, the group has an uncommon blend of lead singers that can harmonize beautifully to punch out any song they do, weather it be rock n roll or the sweet sound of accappella harmony.

A class act all the way and can stand alone on any Marquee or as part of a Classic Rock n’ Roll package
