CARTER - Has been in show business
since the beginning of Rock n Rolland
formed the well known vocal group, "The Crests".
They recorded such popular songs
as "Sixteen Candles", "Step
By Step", "Six
Nights A Week", "The Angles Listened In" & "Trouble
in Paradise". He was trained by the N.Y.C. Metropolitan
Opera Co., has a four octive range,
expansive personality, rich bass
speaking voice and inspirational
appraoch to show business. In addition
to leading "The Crests",
he has performed with "The Drifters" and "Five
Satins" and
was a featured performer in the
cast of "Dirty Dancing Tour
of Europe.
BARRY NEWMAN - Started his entertainment career singing "lead" with
a very popular N.Y.C. accapella Rock n Roll band and was discovered
by Fred Balin of Decca Records. He introduced barry to J.T. Carter
and they joined forces in business ventures and performing together
in major venues and casinos throuhout the United States, Europe & Scandinavia.
The addition of Newman's unique talent and vocal quality added
a whole new demension to the act.
Together with J.T. & Leona, the choreography and high energy
bring a whole new meaning to the word "performance".
This high energy Trio was designed
to allow more intimate venues to enjoy the same dynamics as the
original Crests' stage show, but on a smaller, personal scale. "STARZ" will
surely excite every audience, no matter what age, with their
wide range of musical entertainment consisting of tributes to "The
Four Tops", "Temptations", "The Drifters", "Barry
White", "Al Green", Nat King Cole, Dion, "The
Righteous Brothers" as well as sparkling renditions
of top standards, golden oldies, contemporary and soul.
LEONA CARTER - Has been a member and manager of "The
Crests" for the past 30 years and has a background in classical
music and computer programming. She is the creator of the Trio's
musical arrangements and through the years has worked with J.T. & Barry
Newman as musical director, keyboardist and vocalist for all
recording artists mentioned above as well as the Trio.
